MOOD DISORDERS

Mood Disorder: this disorder causes extreme mood swings in the person affected by it. The person will suffer from extreme happiness or extreme sadness, without any moderation.
These mood swings will affect your life, sleep, energy, relationships, behavior and so much more. These episodes may or may not occur frequently.

This condition can happen to anyone of any age, children, and teens, and even can be triggered during or after pregnancy. This disorder could also be seasonal.
It is not unusual to have only 1 or 2 episodes every year. That is why this disorder doesn’t have a diagnosis until it gets too late. Sometimes people live their entire lives without knowing they are suffering from bipolar disorder.
This condition is a chronic condition but by following treatment & psychotherapy this disorder can be made manageable.

There are a few types of Mood disorders:

  • Bipolar 1 Disorder
  • Bipolar 2 Disorder
  • Cyclothymic Disorder
  • Dysthymic Disorder
  • Other Types Of The Same Disorder Are Caused By Drug Or Alcohol Abuse, Or Medical Disease.

Some symptoms to be aware of could be:

  • An Elevated, Expansive, Or Irritable Mood
  • Inflated self-esteem or grandiosity
  • Depressed need for sleep
  • Flight of ideas
  • Distractibility
  • Increase in goal-directed activity
  • Excessive involvement in pleasurable activities
